Sharp LC-46E77U LCD HDTV First Impressions Review - Intro

The LC-46E77U is the 46-inch option in Sharp's E series of LCD TVs. It's available for $2,400 and will be available in February. This TV seems to be a great option in the line, with the same features as the 65-inch model, but at about half the price....

The LC-46E77U is a nice looking TV, both aesthetically and in terms of its video quality. It certainly seems to represent a better value than the $4,500 65-inch version, although if you want the largest screen size it may be worth it to you. The...

Sharp AQUOS LC-46E77U LCD HDTV Reviewed

The midrange, 46-inch LC-46E77U from Sharp has Fine Motion Enhanced 120Hz technology and a 4-millisecond response time, but it lacks LED backlighting, AQUOS Net, and other features found in Sharp's step-up lines...

This Sharp TV has a 1080p resolution and will accept 24p sources via its generous five HDMI inputs. The two component video inputs also accept 1080p/60

The LC-46E77U doesn't have a USB port or SD card slot that supports digital media playback, nor does it include Sharp's AQUOS Net Web platform ; This LCD uses a traditional fluorescent backlight, so its black level is not as good as that of a...

The LC-46E77U is a bit lacking in the features department - no Web connectivity or digital media ports - but it is otherwise a good value for a 120Hz 1080p LCD. The five HDMI inputs make it an especially good choice for someone who owns a lot of...

Sharp LC-46E77U Review: 46-inch LCD HDTV

Sharp LC-46E77U LCD TV. The new E77U Series LCD's from Sharp are much advanced than its earlier E67U Series. The new E77U Series not only offer many advanced features as far as video, audio or connectivity is concerned, it also features a new design...

Very pleased

In pictures the bottom bezel color looks weird, but in real life it's barely noticeable. I also would have preferred a less glossy bezel all around, but I'm not sure anyone has those. *** Screen is semi-matte, which I wanted, but others may not. ***...

Excellent picture in most respects, 120Hz, decently adjustable. *** Semi-matte screen looks good during the day or at night. *** Can get judder-free playback from my Myth HTPC at 24p (5:5 pulldown). *** Remembers volume level separately for each input,...

I'm no expert, but the picture seems a little less spectacular on dark scenes. *** Occasionally it takes a while for audio to start up after changing channels (cable STB) or starting a video via my HTPC. I don't know if it's just this TV or a general...

Excellent product, terrible shipping

The shipping was ridiculously but free. The television sat for two days before it was picked up. The AIT tracking info said that it arrived on a Thursday, but to a different shipping company. When I called they said it had arrived and that I could have...

The picture is quite good on this set. There are lots of settings options for people who like to tweek it to perfection (i.e., not me). I'm surprised at how often I've used the Audio Only feature (to keep my dogs company while I'm out)

The sound is a bit tinny, but not horrible. I use the optical out port to a stereo and it sounds great

Not too 'Green'

There is nothing connected to the HDMI port and I turned off the 'auto power on' settings but it still entertains an empty living room intermittently.

Wonderful picture ; Very nice User Interface ; Easy to set up and use

Is it possessed? The TV randomly turns itself on once a day. (Twice yesterday at 3:00 PM and 11:15 last night). Sometimes it turns itself off in the middle of a show, too. Symptom became apparent 2 weeks after receipt of the set

Sweet pure, color and deep blacks!

This was a great buy when on sale. Worth every single penny!

I received this wonderful LCD today, properly packed and 3 days earlier than the projected delivery date. Needless to say, I didn't sleep the night before, following the voice mail left by the nice delivery guy. One never grows up, I guess :) ; The...

I can't think of anything! Everything is just too perfect

sweet...

regarding 1080p, the max widescreen res. from the PC output is 1368x768, 1600x1200 (4:3). Using HDMI - I used a DVI to HDMI cable the rez was 1920x1080. But, getting the HDCP to pickup both video card and screen was hit or miss, sometimes it works,...

1080p, 120hz, inputs and outputs up the wazzu ; Price was fine ; No damage to the box whatsoever ; Setup was easy, had no trouble lifting

only 46", PC out res is only 1368x768, DVD to HDMI is inconsistent. I am using a upscaling Sony reciever. If not using both matched HDMI audio and video the screen spits out a message saying the video and audio are not the same signal (just annoying)
