Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Deluxe
Seamless integration with MSN Messenger 7.0; clear video; adjustable settings.
Megapixel photos are interpolated ; stand is not compatible with CRT monitors.
This Webcam provides plenty of settings options for users while providing solid video, photo, and instant-messaging performance.

Webcams are considered cheap but the Logitech QuickCam Communicate Deluxe is far from cheap at Rs 5,859. Using high resolution and quality requires a lot of bandwidth on the Internet.

Are you convinced you need a webcam and inevitably feeling intense shame for not owning one up to this point? Then you've come to the right place, as we're going to look at two candidates, both from Logitech, and both designed for notebooks: The...
Noteveryone will find themselves in a position needing a webcam, but associal interaction becomes increasingly digitized, those users couldfind themselves among the minority. Whether to keep in touch withrelatives or for work related use, your mug and...

Small compact, stylish. Good quality sharp focus.

Took a while to install but the cam is good- range of adjustments available etc. The mic is also good. Don't need additional head phones or mic

The original retail price is why refurbs are being closed out for cheap. This is not a good camera for any price. If you have twenty-five dollars burning a hole in your pocket there are many better cameras out there, for example, *any* UVC webcam would...
Looks good when mounted (see Cons) ; Has a microphone
Awkward mounting using a bendy rubber thing ; No auto-focus. At this price, that's just bad ; Cannot move up and down due to a spring-loaded mount. This is a ponderous limitation and you have to deal with the bendy rubber mount instead ; When...

The driver it uses is called UVC. Framerate is better in decently lighted situations
Worked both with my Windows and Ubuntu systems. I currently use Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit. I have tested it on Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04, and 9.10 as well. (Have upgraded over the years). The odd thing was the switch from 8.04 to 8.10. Ubuntu switched from the...
Has no physical lens cover / audio not the best
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I got this as a gift for my Dad, so this is based on the handful of times I got to use it while I was staying at his house. If I think about it I'll ask my Dad what he thinks after he's had a chance to use it. I didn't get to explore the included...
We used this to talk to my cousin in Iraq via Skype, and it worked well ; The picture look great on my Dad's laptop (which was running Windows XP). I think any picture issues across Skype were because of internet issues in Iraq. The wide angle lens let...
I didn't experience any
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I didn't test some of higher resolutions since I only plan on using this for video conferencing.
Small, portable, seemingly decently built. It is a nice webcam. It works with both Gentoo Linux (kernel 2.6.30) and Windows XP. Works well with Skype for Windows 4.x and Skype for Linux 2.x despite what other reviews have said
Would be nice to to have a physical lens cover
