It's no stand-in for a high-end webcam, but the $40 Microsoft HD-3000 gets the job done in most situations, and is the perfect low-cost choice for anyone with a desktop PC that wants to get into video chats or basic recording.
Good video quality for the price. Automatic light compensation works well. Easy-to-position rubberized mount.
No 1080p recording. Mount lacks tilt adjustment. Subpar microphone performance. Buggy live effects.
Performance, Audio, and Conclusions You can record 16:9 widescreen video in 720p at up to 30 frames per second and share it via Messenger, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Recording 720p video files was as simple as an on-screen button push to begin...

If your budget is unforgiving, Microsoft's LifeCam HD-3000 ($40) may give you the most bang for the least buck. At less than half the price of the LifeCam Studio, this Skype-certified webcam still delivers HD video. It's not business-call quality, but...

Bought this for a friend of mine who is housebound as she had been given a cheaper camera that didn't work at all well. Suits her fine for using Skype with her relatives. A good entry level camera that works with Windows 10.

Very easy to install & simple to use
The image quality is not great, and there is no method to adjust (esp colour balance) and now way to adjust for close-ups etc

With little choice available in webcam market these days, this webcam came out very good. Bought some other brand (from Currys) previously but that broke within 1 week, so returned that and bought this one. Very happy with the purchase so far. Video...
