You might question the value of an external webcam as integrated solutions seem to be increasingly common, both on notebooks and now on monitors too. Microsoft has a range of cameras and the LifeCam Show is aimed at those on the move. The LifeCam Show...
Good quality video and audio, lots of mounting options
Expensive, heavy install
Overall this is a good compact and stylish offering. The inability to change the call button to Skype was an irritation, but it will launch Windows Live for you, so if you are a user then it saves some messing around. Sound and video performance was...

Pretty but pricey pictures.
Excellent image quality, versatile mounting options, nifty 3-D features, glass element wide-angle lens
Prohibitive asking price, incompatible with Macs, glass element wide-angle lens
The Microsoft Lifecam Show is a solid webcam offering let down by its exorbitant price tag. With the exception of its inferior stand, the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 will do everything just as well for a more reasonable price.

Microsoft LifeCam Show
Decent image quality; magnetized connection options are flexible and sturdy; 2-megapixel sensor provides higher resolution than your typical Webcam; 3D video effects improve on past efforts.
LifeCam application remains lackluster and quirky; not compatible with Macs.
The Microsoft LifeCam Show offers improvement over Microsoft's previous laptop Webcam, but Logitech still has the laptop Webcam to beat.

Flexible stand; adjustable camera; call button launches contacts; can post photos to blogs through software.
Call button gets in the way while adjusting; must install Windows Live Messenger; subpar video effects; delay in starting video.
The Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 offers unique features such as the ability to post photos directly to a blog, but its video effects and image quality don't stand up to that of competing Webcams from veteran manufacturers.

Microsoft backs the LifeCam Show with a three-year warranty. It does not work with Macs.

Too expensive for what it offers
Good design, small formfactor, good performance
No auto-focus, expensive

The Microsoft LifeCam Show is a great webcam in a very nicely sized package. The LifeCam Show has very nice video resolution range with a max setting of 800 x 600 and a min setting of 120 x 160. The still capture resolution of this camera is an amazing...

I tried all tricks to install it on XP Pro SP3 and it doesnot work. checked on forums and discovered that it probaly only works with XP Pro SP2. Find no reason to keep it or buy it unless Microsoft wakes up and gives the camera its' software some...

Shame on you Microsoft - you cannot tell me that any of your pre-release test results yielded anything other than only the poorest of quality that we all are reporting here. Gave one egg because cannot submit feedback with ZERO EGGS.
ABSOLUTELY NONE!!!! SHAME ON YOU MICROSOFT! ZERO EGGS
I concur with every negative statement that others have posted. Color quality is absolutely aweful. Downloaded and installed latest everything from Microsoft site - everything still is aweful. Constantly flickers image quality like it can never...
