The Falcon Northwest Talon is one of the few premade desktops that now support the latest AMD graphics and processors. Is it worthy of the power they provide?
Supports a full ATX motherboard ; Rock-solid build quality ; Impeccable cable management ; Excellent 4K gaming ; Endless configuration options
Too expensive ; Nvidia graphics are a better value

For less than the big-box competition, Falcon Northwest's 2024 Talon desktop workstation drives blistering speed with professional-grade Nvidia graphics and AMD's titanic Threadripper Pro.

The workstation-grade 2019 Talon configuration we tested is a killer performer, thanks to Intel's latest professional CPU and twin high-end Nvidia GeForce RTX GPUs. A less expensive model, though, will still benefit from the top-class assembly.

The 2018 Falcon Northwest Talon is a straightforward, configurable, and well-built high-end gaming PC. As configured, it delivers best-in-class performance at a price few will be able to afford.

Though more conservatively designed than other recent high-end gaming desktops, the Falcon Northwest Talon has impressive hardware that helps it drive VR and 4K gaming smoother and faster than the competition.

The Falcon Northwest Talon comes in a new case, with new Core i7-860 components, courtesy of Intel.
Speedy, high end gaming system. Very good build quality and cable routing. SSD for speedy load times. No Bloatware.
Door only opens to 90 degrees. Extra performance may not justify the added price.

The Falcon Northwest Talon (Core i7-950) is a contender for hardcore gamer PC of the year, eschewing gimmicks like a flashy case for simple design, great build quality, and blistering performance.
Great gaming performance for less than $2,500. Great wire routing. Simple, air-cooled overclocking.
Case is a fingerprint magnet. Lacks multimedia card reader. Looks like a run-of-the-mill PC.

The Falcon Northwest Talon is the most affordable SLI system we've seen to date. It provides the power needed for today's games, just not at levels worth bragging about. The Talon makes a good fit for gamers looking for an affordable, expandable...
Large case leaves room to expand; 650-watt power supply; SLI graphics for reasonable price; configurable.
Small hard drive on test unit; noisy; performance tweaks don't add up to much.
Stressing function over form, the unassuming Falcon Northwest Talon is an SLI gaming PC that provides the power needed for today's games, just not at levels worth bragging about.
