A simply excellent full-frame camera at the price
Excellent value for money ; Improved battery stamina ; Fast and responsive autofocus system ; Revised button layout for intuitive control
AF point illumination could be improved ; Convoluted menu system ; Thin plastic port covers aren’t weather-sealed ; Handles poorly with large gloves in cold climates

A simply excellent full-frame camera at the price. Sony A7 III.

Simply put, the Sony A7 III is the finest example of the most affordable full-frame camera on the market. It’s a sensational camera for the money and compliments the ever-evolving Sony A7-series quite brilliantly.

No longer the poor relation
693-point AF system ; 10fps burst shooting ; Uncropped 4K video ; 15-stop dynamic range ; 5-axis image stabilization ; Compact and durable body
Limited touchscreen control ; Only one SD slot supports UHS-II cards
When you look at the camera you get for your money, it's hard not to be impressed by the Sony Alpha A7 III. With a wealth of advanced features, the A7 III is likely to appeal to many photographers looking for a well-rounded and advanced full-frame...

A formidable and affordable entry into full-frame
Incredible value ; Excellent image quality ; Good for video ; Speedy autofocus and tracking
Small physical buttons ; Battery life could be improved
A superstar all-rounder that gives you pretty much everything you need and more - all for a very, very attractive price.

The newly developed A7 III from Sony is a 24Mp full-frame mirrorless camera with 4K video and the high shooting speeds that are normally seen in a sports camera. Is this a well-rounded camera or should you be seeking out alternative models? Our...

Announcing the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III - Sony had the clever idea of telling everyone, that this was "the b a s i c model" in the Sony Alpha range, and pretty much everyone published this, because it was quite frankly a little bit ridiculous. The Sony...

Sony's 24.2-megapixel A7 III is a near-perfect all-around mirrorless camera. You can fire bursts at 10 fps, capture sharp images with excellent dynamic range day or night, and autofocus accurately on fast-moving subjects or portraits. It also handles...
Stellar low-light/high ISO capability ; Much-improved handling ; Fast 10 fps shooting ; Excellent autofocus ; Sharpest 4K video of any Sony full-frame camera ; Double the battery life of the last model
EVF and viewfinder not quite as good as rivals ; Two SD card slots but only one is high-speed UHS-II ; Not as weather-resistant as the Fujifilm’s X-H1 ; No 10-bit video output like Panasonic’s GH5s
The Sony Alpha A7 III might not have the highest resolution, fastest shooting speed or best video quality. But by borrowing features from the flagship A9 and A7R III, it's uniformly excellent at everything.
