It isn't easy being a maker of e-book readers these days. Amazon has really cornered the market with its Kindle. That's not so much down to the Kindle e-reader itself, as about additional services such as ...
Intrinsically, the BeBook Club does a reasonable job as a mid-range, no-frills e-reader. But that is not what we'd expect to get at this price. The Wi-Fi toting Kindle costs £111, and the version with 3G built in costs £152. That, right there, is the...

The BeBook Club offers features that lower-priced readers do not, but for AU$249 it would have been nice to see at least a dictionary or Wi-Fi thrown in, too.
Range of stylish cases available (sold separately) ; Go-to page feature ; Options to change idle settings ; SD card slot ; Wide range of ebook formats supported ; Audio support ; Good PDF handling ; Less expensive than other BeBook devices ; Sturdy...
(Comparatively) dark screen with outdated E Ink technology ; Noticeable ghosting ; Circuitous and fiddly navigation ; No dictionary ; No online options ; A tad pricey ; Relatively small internal memory ; Sleep mode drains battery
The BeBook Club is available in Australia from BeBook.

This is a easy to use paper like ereader. I prefer reading on my ebook above my iPad.

This is a very easy to use ereader and it supports all formats so I can buy books everywhere.
Easy to use
Would like black
Consumer review (cnet.com.au)
Its far more expensive than the kindle, offers less functionality (lacking WiFi! Let alone 3g.. dark screen, poorer ergonomics, chunkier, no dictionary).. There just doesn't seem to be anything that makes this a worthwhile purchase.
Wide format support
Literally everything else

thankfully there are still some "open" readers available, for people like me, who like to own their purchased books, instead of being locked in by somebody like amazon of kobo.
Fast bootup (so you can turn it off to save battery power) fast page turns, clear screen with enough zoom options to find the correct setting, very happy
Nice form, there is a metal look back which looks nice, but i would have been ok without it.. doesn't improve the reading exeperience..
