Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch)

The Intel-based MacBook Pro (15-inch) is a big deal for most consumer Mac users, with improved performance and beefed-up multimedia capabilities, but professionals should hold off until essential software packages are updated to work with its Intel...

Intel components improve speed. Added FrontRow multimedia interface and remote. Integrated iSight Webcam. Excellent software bundle in the iLife '06 suite.

No improvement in battery life. Some multimedia applications that aren't universal binary will run more slowly on Intel-based Macs. System runs hot. One-button mouse. Only two USB ports. Dual-layer DVD support is gone.

my one complaint about the design is that it still has a one-button mouse. sure, you can hold down the ctrl key and the mouse button to get right-click effects, but if the usb mighty mouse has added left and right click buttons, i expect something...

Apple MacBook 2006 Model review: Apple MacBook 2006 Model

Cheaper than the MacBook Pro, with nearly comparable performance; great design; built-in Webcam and remote control; can run Windows XP via Boot Camp.

No ExpressCard slot or FireWire 800; lacks media card reader; only 90 days of toll-free technical support.

The new MacBook, updated to Intel's Core 2 Duo CPU, compares very favorably with Apple's high-end MacBook Pro line, offering premium performance at a reasonable price.

Apple MacBook Pro (15.4-inch 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)

If you've been holding off on making the leap to a MacBook because of the lack of Core 2 Duo processors, this new update adds the latest Intel CPUs and provides a great overall computing experience, albeit at a premium price.

Apple MacBook Pro

Slim and sexy, Magnetic Power connector, iSight Webcam, Faster than previous models

Expensive, Poor Screen Resolution, Graphics need work

It's expensive, but the MacBook Pro offers better performance and speed than its predecessors and ships standard with a whole range of intuitive features
