Apple MacBook Pro 2007 Edition review: Apple MacBook Pro 2007 Edition

Editor's Note: This review primarily covers the recent updates to the Apple MacBook Pro line. For a detailed look at the design and features, read our earlier review of the Apple MacBook Pro (15.4-inch 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) .

Updated CPUs and graphics without an updated price; LED-backlit display for better battery life; 802.11n support.

Minimal configuration options; only 90 days of toll-free technical support; still no media card reader.

Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro gets a solid under-the-hood upgrade for better performance and longer battery life, allowing the MacBook Pro to put enough distance between itself and the lower-end MacBook to justify its higher price.

Review: Apple Macbook Pro 17"

Before last week, I only admired Apple's Macbook Pro from a distance. I liked the look of it and thought that others who bought it would be getting a decent laptop computer, but I probably wouldn't have considered getting one for myself. That's all...

There are utilities out there to increase the fan speed when conditions warrant increased cooling.

What a Drag

I came into this notebook with the idea that I was going to be much happier then using Windows XP. Wrong! 1st of all I am a programmer and web developer and I use a lot fo open source products.........does Apple have a community which focus's on open...

A beautiful machine

When your friends take out their honkin' Dell XPSs and the neon lights turn on and the machine sort of hums and powers up Windows XP, you can kind of smile a bit and pull out your inch-thin MacBook Pro and be confident that despite the subtle and...

Powerful components, elegant design, OS X, extremely high-quality in every way, very thin and light

Gets a little hot, as notebooks do. I'm just paranoid. If you're looking for an ultra-portable, 17" is a bit on the big side. Rumor has it it will be updated in January 2008, but this machine is classic Apple perfection anyway

Great Desktop Replacement

The display is INCREDIBLE even by desktop display standards. This laptop makes a great desktop replacement. The Core 2 Duo is incredibly fast, and the new 8600GT runs every modern game out there at great settings. It is very thin at 1". Worth every...

For ULTRA portability, I would not recommend this laptop, as it is just large enough to be considered slightly awkward

A great laptop and a bridge between the Windows/Mac worlds

Update: Dec 27, 2008 ****If anything I feel more positive about this laptop than when I wrote this review. It works as well today as it did the day I bought it. Since the time of this review, I have upgraded the PC side to Vista ...

Usually runs Windows as well as a pc. Great hardware. Will convert you to Mac!

Has the glitches of a Windows laptop plus some of its own. Pricey.

A great laptop and a bridge between the Windows/Mac worlds

This review will focus on what I consider to be the main advantage of buying a MacBook Pro: the ability to dual boot to Windows and run XP programs at native speed. This is the reason I purchased it. After this, I will also share my experience with the...
