Dell Latitude E6420 ATG review

The construction of the Dell Latitude E6420 ATG laptop is very sturdy, with what Dell calls a Tri-Metal casing that conforms to military standards. The lid - made of anodized aluminium - in particular is satisfyingly robust, offering the screen good...

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG is solid and speedy. With the top-spec Intel Core i7 and Samsung SSD option, performance is undeniably good. The price tagmay look a touch steep, but if you need a laptop that won't object to some rough riding in your work...

Dell Latitude E6420 XFR review

With its 60Wh lithium battery securely locked inside, the Dell Latitude E6420 XFR lasted 5.5 hrs in the MobileMark 2007 Productivity test.

The Dell Latitude E6420 XFR is a tank of a laptop, well suited to the outdoors. If you require a really rugged system then this is it – but you better have deep pockets. Performance is very good too, although we were a little disappointed by the...

Dell Latitude E6420 review

The Dell Latitude E6420 is a well built 14in laptop with good speed, but it could use more features for the price.

Overall, the Dell Latitude E6420 is a comfortable unit to use and we like it. It feels sturdy and it also has understated good looks. We'd spec it up a little, though, and add a fingerprint reader as well as backlit keyboard; we're disappointed that...

Dell Latitude E6420 review

Dell's latest business laptop may have odd, retro-like looks but it's crammed full of the latest technology. Is this enough to make it the best portable computer for your workforce? Read our review to find out.

The Dell Latitude E6420 is a good, if slightly odd laptop. It's fast with plenty of ports, a reasonably comfortable set of input devices and a lengthy warranty. It also has surprisingly good battery life, even though it's relatively heavy. It's also...

Dell Latitude E6420 laptop review

Dell's latitude range has long been associated with rugged business class laptops; today we review the new E6420

Overall the E6420 is a solid business class laptop with very few shortcomings. The extensive use of metal casing has added to the device’s weight (about 2.3kg with a 6-cell battery) making it less portable than some of its competitors. Build quality...

Dell Latitude E6420 business laptop

Dell Latitude E6420 review: A well built 15.6in laptop with good speed, but it could use more features for the price

Performance ; Build quality ; Keyboard

Lacks USB 3.0 ; Could use more features ; 64-bit Windows has to be specified

The Latitude E6420 is a well built business machine with good performance. However, it could use a few more standard features for the price (such as USB 3.0) and we also wish that Dell supplied both the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 versions in the...

Dell Latitude E6420 XFR

For those who work in harsher environments than an office or classroom, the Dell Latitude E6420 XFR fully-rugged laptop is built to go off the road and protect your data.

Ultra-rugged design. Core i7 CPU and SSD combo makes for speedy performance. Bluetooth helps connects your wireless peripherals. WiMAX will help keep you connected wherever your work takes you. Backlit keyboard.

Pricey. Laptop gets hot.

Dell Latitude E6420 ATG

What does $3000 get you in a business laptop these days? With the Dell Latitude E6420 ATG, it buys top-flight computing speed and nearly half a day's battery life packed into a feature-rich chassis with a fortified case that might stop some bullets.

Four USB ports ; Supersturdy construction ; Great performance ; Incredible battery life

Heavy for its screen size ; Average gaming scores ; Extremely pricey for a 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude E6420 delivers all the power you'd want in a business laptop plus outstanding battery life, but its weight and high price tag make it overkill for mainstream users.

Dell Latitude E6420

The Dell Latitude E6420 can be outrageously powerful (for a steep price) or run the bare essentials yet still be a competent business laptop.

Revamped design is nice. Sturdy frame. Wide selection of Intel processors. Backlit keyboard. Great typing experience. Soft mouse buttons. Excellent battery life. Higher-resolution available.

Very heavy for a 14-inch laptop. Pointing stick is stiff.
