Gigabyte Booktop M1022 netbook review

If there's one segment in consumer electronics where it's hard to stand out, it's netbooks. The race to the bottom line, together with strict rules from component suppliers regarding maximum specifications, means that the hardware of most machines...

Gigabyte Booktop M1022M

The Booktop may be on the costly side, thanks to the bundled docking station, but it still falls below "premium" netbook costs. Plus the excellent battery life and ability to switch from a desk-bound PC to a portable mini-laptop captured our attention.

Comfortable keyboard ; ExpressCard slot ; Optional HSDPA connectivity ; Good battery life ; Draft-N Wi-Fi radio ; Bundled docking station converts netbook into a nettop

Included docking station increases price but does not add new ports like HDMI

Gigabyte Booktop M1022M

This netbook was quite a good buy. However, why so expensive? I dont think that the dock is worth so much? The battery indicator I hardly use and there is so much fancy trim, its just a netbook.

It has a docking

expensive

Gigabyte Booktop M1022M

This Booktop looks like a little like an apple product, which I have a lot of. I like the black-white colour tones, and I dont need to plug in cables. Use an external monitor. Quite useful.

Easy to use

No cd-rom

I like the battery indicator on this Gigabyte Booktop when the unit is off. Saves me the trouble of switching on to check if I have enough charge b4 I leave the house. Glossy white though.... uhhh..

Gigabyte Booktop M1022M

Quite a nifty netbook with a dock. I've been using it as a desktop at home plugged into my 22" LCD. Dock resembles a Wii dock, not very original here, but still quite convenient as it charges with an off status battery indicator. Would have preferred...

Conveniet, 6 USB ports when docked, Charges on dock

White is only color
