The Lenovo IdeaPad 720S is a 3.5 pound laptop that's about the size of a small 13 inch laptop, but which has a 14 inch display, thanks to slim bezels around the screen.

Oh, and it also have NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. Sure, that graphics card is a generation old at this point, but it should still provide substantially more GPU power than you’d get from the integrated Intel HD graphics alone… and my understanding is...

Really fast to boot up and shut down (my old laptop was a 13 year old XP and took 10 minutes to load and 5 mins to shutdown). It is capable of doing a virus scan in the background.

It's taking me a while to get used to not having a separate number keypad. I have to log in with my Microsoft / Hotmail password so I get notifications that I have new e-mail (not yet worked out how to turn it off). The plug is huge so it doesn't fit...

Beautiful design, lightweight, battery lasts for a really long time.

The fan is super loud. I've tried everything to try and make it stop. It pulses from silent to max and distracts others in my lectures. Also the camera stops working sometimes.

Very fast boot up time, able to play games eg Forza Horizon 3, ability to adjust screen almost 180 degrees. Number of ports for a slim laptop. Backlit keyboard. Not had it long enough to test durability and any long term faults, but so far very happy...

Relatively expensive but worth it.
