Lenovo ThinkPad T14s AMD Gen 1 review: Solid, dependable and fast

A lovely laptop to use day to day but rivals deliver a more rounded set of capabilities for less

Wonderful keyboard ; Sturdy and chic ; Good performance

Average battery life ; A little pricey

All that adds up to a laptop that may be competent across the board but fails to excel in any one particular area.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Review

Potent eight-core Ryzen Pro processor ; Exemplary keyboard ; Usual sterling ThinkPad build quality

No 4K screen option ; No Thunderbolt 3 port ; So-so webcam quality

Lenovo's Ryzen-based ThinkPad T14s is by and large a spectacular success. Our one caveat: The AMD model of this 14-inch business thin-and-light tops out at a 1080p screen.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Review: Business laptop is better with AMD

Notebookcheck reviews the new Lenovo ThinkPad T14s with the AMD Ryzen Pro 4000 CPU. Is the new T14s a better alternative for the business flagship ThinkPad X1 Carbon?

rigid and high-quality chassis;high CPU and iGPU performance;very good 1080p screen (matte, bright, almost full sRGB gamut);good battery runtime;excellent keyboard;quiet operation;HDMI 2.0;WWAN-ready;three-year warranty;fast Wi-Fi 6

RAM cannot be upgraded;no Thunderbolt 3;fan is slightly more audible compared to the Intel SKU;32 GB only on the education model for now;only microSD reader with poor positioning;4K screen not available for AMD SKU

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 Laptop Review: The Intel model is the worse choice

Notebookcheck reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 (Intel). The ThinkPad T14s is a light, compact device with a magnesium chassis that is intended for business users who value portability above all.

rigid and high-quality chassis;very good 1080p display (matte, bright, covers almost 100% of sRGB);great battery life;superb keyboard;quiet operation;WWAN-ready;three-year warranty;compared to T490s: Wi-Fi 6

significantly slower than the AMD model;non-upgradable RAM ;poorly positioned SD card reader;coil whine

This is my detailed review of the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s gen 3 lineup.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s review – high-performance processors and a Privacy Guard that blocks unwanted eyes

Today's machine – the ThinkPad T14s is so powerful, that it's on the edge of being considered as a workstation device. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The ThinkPad T14…

Magnesium and carbon fiber composites are all part of the build;Covers 96% of sRGB colors (AUO B140HAN05.7);Very high color accuracy when Gaming and Web design profile is installed (AUO B140HAN05.7);The spill-resistant keyboard that is great for...

Lacks a Thunderbolt 3 port;Memory can’t be upgraded; The high frequencies in the long torture test resulted in quite hot CPU and warm externals; The Privacy Guard works, but it hinders the viewing angles even when it’s off
