Blew up after 8-months

Serious hit to MSI's reputation. This thing should not be experiencing hardware problems so soon. What if I do get it fixed / replaced? Will it go another few months and puke again?

Great features, fast, good price point

Some minor and then the big one... The stupid thing just powered down on its own and won't boot now. I've owned it for 8 months and paid $2500 for it... And MSI's service is known to be terrible. At best, I've got a fight and a long wait without a...

Make your friends drool

This is a great unit that comes with some really cool perks for free. The steelseries headphones are fantastic. The mouse is meh, but the inclusion of a free Battlefield 3 download more than makes up for that. If you're in the market for a gaming...

Boots and shuts down faster than any PC I've ever seen. Runs Battlefield 3 (which came free with the purchase of the system) on the highest possible graphics settings without the slightest hitch. Runs completely silent except when the gaming fan is...

I personally prefer 1920x1200 resolution to 1920x1080, but it seems like the industry is moving away from 16x10 aspect, so it's hard to blame this given unit for it. The primary drive is a little underwhelming, but it's an acceptable trade-off for the...

NewEgg Rules!

Was really wanting something 4 business+gaming since I'm on the road a lot-goodgaming laptop keeps me out of the bars when I travel. Replaced an Alienware M11xR2 (major size change!) which I was very happy with til I found valid reason to need USB-3;...

1-Fabulous combination of leading edge tech at a very competitive price point ; 2-Excellent support experience ; 3-Great sound for a laptop - has a "woofer" built in ; 4-Didnt ship with a lot of crapware ; 5-Fabulous Screen ; 6-Surprising battery life...

1-Heavy - but that's no surprise ; 2-Bulky - but no surprise either ; 3-Bad choice on standard SSD, as reported by others ; 4-Keyboard takes a bit of getting used to (layout) ; 5-Tamper proof sticker on chassis

Awesomesauce for tech dads who still game

Read and think about it. Great machine, but make decision about primary hard drive prior. You can always switch it, but void warranty... Hope it helps fellow gamers, dads, and bakers across the land.... lol

Just the premo laptop guys/gals for business and gaming and whatever else you want to do. Heavy, yes, but who gives a Schitt...when u smile like it's the first time you ever powered your first laptop w/ the feeling of the beast within.....lol

I quote another reviewer from earlier. He is dead on.. If your spending 2.4, u do some reading.... right? then the 3-4 houndred bucks on 3/4 year I'm an idiot protection, add a few acessories. u are at 4 k ... right? Then they did this, and I quote the...

High price, but you get what you pay for....

Stop thinking about it and buy it!

This laptop takes pretty much everything to the next level ; Been running the system for about a week now and after every stress test it out performs. The 580m has yet to not run any of my games at full specs. I have hooked it up to an Optoma 3d...

The only con I can come up with is the backpack that comes with it. It is a bit thin and doesn't offer great protection ; Also, to get the system to work with a 3d projector you have to get the drivers from MSI's website. I don't know if it's an Nvidia...

Great Laptop; except one glaring problem

Send me and anyone else a new one of these w/ a primary hard drive upgrade, and this would be one of the nicest 2-3k laptop period on the market that alot of us older techies could use to game, and do some work from home, at the office, etc.

Processor 7.5 out of 7.9 ; Memory (Ram) 7.6 out of 7.9 ; Graphics 7.5 out of 7.9 ; Gaming Graphics 7.6 out of 7.9 ; Primary Hard Disk(disk data transfer rate) 5.9; this is unacceptable for such a well put together machine. 5.9 out of 7.9? When rest of...

Primary hard Disk (data transfer rate) 5.9 out of 7.9; This is unacceptable for such a beautiful machine. Why they put a substandard primary hard disk to work w/ such a great build is beyond me. What would it have cost? another 100 bucks to make this...
