Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus

An ultra-high quality slim laptop with the best screen in town

Fab screen ; Great design ; Decent battery life ; Good internal speakers

Battery life good, not exceptional ; Windows 8 is not good at handling the screen resolution

The one other screen problem is the way Windows 8 deals with a super-high resolution screen like this. Within the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus’s software control panel you can alter the size of fonts to avoid everything looking painfully small on the...

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus review

A Retina-beating display, new Haswell processor and cutting-edge design. Is this the ultimate Ultrabook?

Incredible touchscreen ; Thin ; Light ; Great battery life ; Powerful

Relatively expensive ; Resolution tricky in desktop mode ; Bloatware

If you're looking for a lush screen and stunning performance, then look no further. Just check your wallet at the door.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review

This MacBook-baiting Ultrabook has the highest resolution screen of any laptop. But is it more than just a pixelly face?

Spectacular screen ; Ultra-desirable design ; Good battery life

Slightly underpowered ; Too high-res for Windows 8.1 ; Glitchy trackpad

The most luxurious mobile home you can give to Windows 8

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review

Design-wise, the device looks very similar to the old Series 9 laptop, which is no bad thing. The thin aluminium uni-body looks sleek and attractive in its blue tinted 'Ash Black' colour with arcing lines and cleanly finished silver edges.

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 is one of the nicer Windows Ultrabooks around at the moment with stylish design and impressive-looking specifications. But it comes at a high price and has disappointing battery life. Unless you specifically want Windows 8 and...

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review: A high-res, high-price ultrabook

A 3,200x1,800-pixel-resolution touch screen elevates the Book 9 Plus above its laptop competition in the Windows 8 world.

The ; laptop has a sturdy, slim design, ultra-high-res touch screen, and really good battery life.

Costs several hundred more than we’d prefer; shrunken HDMI port; doesn’t convert to a tablet form -- strictly a laptop.

If you’re just looking for an all-around excellently made Windows touch ultrabook and don’t mind that it's on the expensive side (and doesn’t convert to a tablet), the improved Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is worth the investment.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review

Without a doubt this is Samsung's best laptop to date - Windows might not yet be ready for ultra-high resolution displays, but the Ativ Book 9 Plus is a fantastic Ultrabook anyway

Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus review

With the ATIV Book 9 Plus, Samsung can still lay claim to one of the best Ultrabooks on the market. As ever, it offers an attractive design and fast performance, but battery life is improved, and the 3,200 x 1,800 display is best in class.

Super-thin, well-made ; Gorgeous 3,200 x 1,800 display ; Good battery life, runs cool ; Excellent audio quality

Trackpad could still use some fine-tuning ; Relatively slow I/O speeds ; Logos painted onto the device ; One configuration

Samsung already had the best Ultrabook on the market, and it's managed to stay on top in 2013, even as its competitors have improved battery life and performance on their own models. Like its predecessor, the ATIV Book 9 Plus is impressively thin, with...
