Toshiba Portégé R30-A-14K review

Even so, the R30 can make a sturdy and reliable workhorse laptop that will appeal mainly to business users – albeit at a rather high price.

The Toshiba Portégé R30-A-14K's lo-res TN display is disappointing in a laptop costing £900. However, the laptop's relatively lightweight design and long-lasting battery ensure that it could earn its keep when on the move. The hard drive's...

Toshiba Portégé R30-A-13C review

Despite being full of useful ports, the R30 is letdown by a poor screen and keyboard

Plenty of ports; Reasonable power; Excellent battery life;

Dreadful screen; Mediocre keyboard; Expensive

Promising much, the R30 is let down in key areas as it's got a poor screen and keyboard ergonomics.

Toshiba Portege R30-A1302

The Toshiba Portege R30-A1302 ultraportable has a high-powered processor and speedy solid-state drive (SSD). It's not the most forward-looking system in the world, but its throwback features, such as a DVD drive and ExpressCard port, will keep veteran...

Lightweight. Plenty of I/O ports. DVD drive. Removable battery. Very good battery life.

No touch screen. Bouncy keyboard. Only 1,366-by-768-resolution screen. Narrow field of view.

The Toshiba Portege R30-A1302's appeal lies in the familiarity of its design and features. It has lots of legacy tech, like ExpressCard, VGA, and a DVD burner, in a chassis design that won't confuse veteran users in your organization. But its $1,600...

Toshiba Portegé R30 Review: Old School Meets New Business

This 13.3-inch business notebook is a portable powerhouse that uses full wattage Intel processors and includes a built-in optical drive. Keep reading to see if it's worth the asking price.

Strong build quality ; Built-in optical drive and docking station support ; Runs cool and quiet ; Great pointing stick

Boring design ; Anemic, low-resolution display as reviewed ; Keyboard needs more feedback

Toshiba Portégé R30-A-1CQ

I bought this computer because it seemed to represent a good compromise between price weight and performance. It is a fairly good looking fairly anonymous slab that so far seems to work effectively even going through the process of upgrading to Windows...

This was an upgrade from my panasonic T8 which seems still to be a more exciting prospect - especially equipped as it is with a solid state disk. I expected the Toshiba to be much faster but so fa it seems rather sluggish and of course no touch screen....
