Toshiba Qosmio X770 review

A powerful 3D laptop that's perfect for movie lovers and gamers

Powerful Spec ; Top-end Nvidia graphics ; Bright full HD screen ; Blu-ray drive ; 3D effect works well

Bulky and heavy ; Battery life sucks

Although it's easy to dismiss 3D as a gimmick that might disappear in a couple of years, there's no denying its current popularity. As a result, we've seen plenty of 3D-compatible laptops in recent times, such as Sony's ridiculously enormous VAIO...

Toshiba QOSMIO X770

Toshiba's QOSMIO X770 is both big and clever, although it's the size, weight and design that strike you first. The QOSMIO X770 is a monster of a multimedia and gaming system, from the size to the specification to the design, to the fairly hefty price tag.

Fantastic sound, impressive HD screen, all-round entertainment capability from Blu-ray and 3D, serious gaming

Disturbingly clicky touch pad buttons and a garish plastic case let down the otherwise impressive build quality, and between the battery life and the size it's a stretch to call the QOSMIO X770 portable

The QOSMIO X770 is a monster of a multimedia and gaming system, from the size to the specification to the design, to the fairly hefty price tag.

Incredible power, but the X770 can't compete with Samsung's superior Series 7 Gamer as a gaming laptop

Rock X770-T7800-8800 gaming laptop

Prior to the Rock X770-T7800-8800, gaming laptops had always been something of a contradiction in terms. But this is far and away the fastest laptop we've seen.

In many ways, you’d have to be mad to shell out this much for a gaming laptop. After all, you’re not going to have the same upgrade options that a desktop purchaser would have, and that alone should be enough to make you baulk at the idea of spending...

Toshiba Qosmio X770-136 review

17.3 inch desktop replacement gaming laptop with active 3D glasses. The Qosmio X770 is expensive, let's make that clear...

Excellent display and 3D capabilities; very well featured

The price tag is a bit of a wallet-worrier; battery life is poor

The X770’s bright and crisp screen displays some quality 3D effects, via the bundled Nvidia active shutter glasses. 3D gaming does slow down the frame rates achieved, but the Qosmio has enough graphical firepower, to ensure an immersive and relatively...

Toshiba Qosmio X770 17.3in 3D gaming notebook

Review When Toshiba UK announced the launch of the Qosmio X770 3D – a new gaming laptop with stereoscopic 3D graphics and a 17.3in HD screen, I immediately thought: could this be an Alienware [1] killer? Toshiba has been said to lag behind other...

I’m impressed with the look and feel of this beast and 3D maybe a gimmick but it’s sets this laptop apart from it’s peers. But for £1700 and an unattractive battery life you’re going need to ask yourself why you’re not buying a desktop for the same...

Toshiba Qosmio X770 gaming notebook

A 3D gaming notebook with a questionable design, but plenty of power under the hood

Great performance ; Sound quality ; 3D technology ; Good keyboard

Design and build quality ; Average screen ; Very short battery life ; No RAID

The Qosmio X770's design aside, it's worthy notebook for gamers thanks to its Core i7 CPU and GeForce GTX 560M graphics. Its 3D technology also works well and allows you to immerse yourself in your gaming. On the flipside, its battery life is poor, it...
