Toshiba Tecra A9 review

This machine delivers on battery life, but performance is less impressive

Good battery life ; Solid build ; Lightweight and portable

Poor screen ; Low on power

In terms of performance, this laptop leaves a lot to be desired. But less demanding users may be tempted by its portability

Toshiba Tecra A9-51S review

A no-nonsense approach from this corporate workhorse

Well built ; High performance thanks to XP ; Decent security

Very little by way of style

A corporate laptop with strong credentials

Toshiba Tecra A9-12G review

The Tecra comes preinstalled with Windows Vista Business, although you can downgrade to Windows XP Professional Edition using the bundled disc.

Toshiba's Tecra has some appealing features, but is outclassed by the competition. The Tecra has a good screen and impressive battery life, but the poor touch pad and small hard disk count against it. Samsung's R70 is a better buy.

Toshiba Tecra A951S review

Toshiba's Tecra A9-51S is the only notebook in this category to have a matt screen with an anti-glare finish, so it's suitable for outdoor use.

The Tecra A9-51S is a very stylish notebook with a decent battery life. However, when it comes to performance, it can't compete with the Eclipse and PC Nextday notebooks.

Toshiba Tecra A9 (PTS52A-OCU03F)

The Toshiba Tecra A9 (TS52A-OCU03F) is a no-frills notebook built with the business user in mind. Although the unit's design isn't innovative, eye-cat...

Solidly-built unit, pre-installed software makes connectivity simple, good value

Design is somewhat drab, screen has narrow viewing angles; lacks a webcam and Bluetooth

A well-priced and solid notebook that should suit many business users' needs, despite its lack of high-end features.

Toshiba Tecra A9 (PTS52A-00V00F)

As we march boldly into the 21st century, mobility and travel have become important components of most global businesses. This constantly prowling wor...

Unfussy businesslike design, large and attractive widescreen display, solid performer in most areas

Not geared towards portability, limited graphical capabilities

While it might not quite resurrect a dying breed, the A9 (PTS52A-00V00F) proves that big old-fashioned business notebooks still have a worthy place in the ultra-mobile world. Worth investing in.

Toshiba Tecra A9-S9013

The Toshiba Tecra A9-S9013 is a business laptop that has a positive impact on the environment, but most everything else about it is forgettable.

Excellent "Green" rating. Serial port. Low power consumption.

Insufficient RAM by Vista standards. Ho-hum design. Keyboard could be sturdier. Pointing stick has the feel of sandpaper.

Toshiba Tecra A9 S9013

The Toshiba Tecra A9-S9013 is one of those business laptops that you can easily walk past without a glance. The dark-gray exterior blends right in with the stainless-steel appliances at your local Best Buy. Style is usually not a particular concern in...

The Toshiba Tecra A9-S9013 is a not-so-memorable business laptop with an impressive green rating.

Toshiba Tecra A9 Review

The design of the Tecra A9 is not unlike many other business notebooks; very basic and professional looking. The display cover and keyboard are a simple matte silver color, with no sleek sloping curves, just mildly rounded edges all around. The rest of...

Comfortable keyboard and pointing stick ; Very cool and quiet cooling system ; 3-year warranty standard

Poor graphics performance ; Included software can bring the machine to a halt

With screen brightness at 80 percent, wireless enabled, "balanced" profile set, and accessing web pages on occasion the system managed 2 hours and 40 minutes on its 6-cell battery. Manufacturers estimated battery life was listed as "up to 3.97hrs",...
