A surprisingly affordable and effective alternative to a mega-screen TV. Epson EH-LS100.
Remarkably bright pictures remain watchable in ambient light ; Very affordable for a laser projector ; Convenient ultra short-throw design
Black levels are below par for dark-room viewing ; Runs noisily in its brightest modes ; Hard to avoid using keystone correction
The LS100 is a unique proposition. It doesn’t quite pass muster as a serious movie machine, but it could certainly make a great entertaining option for big-screen gaming or big-match sports parties – in the daytime only.

Excellent Full HD images from a projector sitting just inches from the screen
Ultra-short throw ; Laser projection ; Good image
Not the most subtle picture ; Fan can get loud
The Epson EH-LS100 is a great option for those who don’t want a permanently installed projector

Epson's Full HD laser projector is all kinds of awesome
Ultra Short Throw projection ; Astoundingly bright and vivid ; Maintenance-free laser light
A bit noisy in full flight ; Limited black levels
The EH-LS100 is a pain-free way to bring giant images into larger rooms. If you’re lucky enough to have a space that makes even 65-inch TVs look relatively small, it’s a spectacular solution. The provision of a laser light source removes the spectre of...

Get a cinema-style setup, six inches from the wall
Seriously bright image ; Short throw makes placement a breeze ; Laser means no bulb-swapping
Black levels aren’t the best ; Hardly a pretty projector ; Noisy on full brightness
As easy to position as a TV, with excellent brightness, the LS100 is a great way to get a big screen anywhere – but a telly is still your best bet for 4K and HDR

Uses a laser light source ; Ideal for smaller and brighter rooms ; Easy to set up and use ; Accurate greyscale and gamma ; Attractive price point
Inaccurate colour gamut ; Poor black levels and contrast ratio ; Limited to Full HD ; No backlight on remote
The Epson EH-LS100 is an interesting product for a number of reasons but primarily because it offers laser projection at a previously unthinkable price point. As a result consumers who want the big screen experience of a projector but also crave the...

The $3,000 Epson LS100 is an ultra-short-throw laser projector designed to appeal to people who want a truly gigantic screen without needing a big, dark room to put it in.

Epson LS100 combines UST, laser and 4K compatibility
Consumer review (very.co.uk)
