The Onkyo goes loud and deep, but there are more refined and talented rivals for a better price
Huge, expansive sound ; Dynamic and open ; Deep bass ; Sturdy and rigid build quality ; Simple to use
Bass is too unwieldy and boomy ; Hard edge to sound ; Voices aren’t very clear ; Expensive
The LS-T10 is stuck between boomy bass and a hard top end, and doesn’t deliver the most engaging and smooth performance.

In terms of size the 70cm-wide Onkyo LS-T10 is one of the bigger soundbase speakers around, making it more likely to accommodate screens in excess of 40in than any of its rivals if shoehorning in between tabletop and TV is a prerequisite. Its large...

One of the emerging trends of 2013 has been the speaker base. They've appeared from all quarters - including Onkyo, here with the LS-T10 - looking to resolve that issue of poor TV sound, but without treading down the full AV receiver and surround sound...
Sound quality, bass delivery, plenty of volume, Bluetooth, sound modes
Price, cheap remote
It's the performance of the Onkyo LS-T10 that really impresses. It delivers great quality sound from a wide variety of sources, with the USB and Bluetooth as additional benefits. As an all-round solution to improving the sound coming from your TV,...

What is it? The Onkyo LS-T10 Soundbase is the ultimate accessory to have for anybody who enjoys their surround sound, their music, and their movie experience. It takes the ordinary[...]
There are some things in life that you can only appreciate when you have them. This is definitely one of those. Go, and get it. And yeah, invite your friends for that movie, games or sports experience, and you will be the star of the show with this.

Onkyo's new soundbase brings high quality sound to TVs in one neat, complete package
Convenient and easy-to-install system ; Good all around sound quality ; Integrated Bluetooth
Can struggle with some low frequencies ; Very small remote
Onkyo's LS-T10 is similar to a soundbar, but it's a base instead. Rather than sitting in front of your TV, it can become the stand for your TV. It has a sub-woofer built in and is very easy to set up and use. Its sound quality isn't bad either. Well...

The Onkyo LS-T10 sound stand feels well-built and sounds good with movies, but its poor performance with music makes it rough to recommend.
The Onkyo LS-T10 sound stand looks unassuming under your TV and feels solidly built. It sounds best with movies, with clear dialogue and a built-in subwoofer that adds weight to action films. And built-in Bluetooth makes it easy to stream from mobile...
Music sounds terrible, even by sound-bar standards. There is a USB port, but it's so limited that it's almost useless. The thin credit-card remote feels chintzy. There's also no ability to switch between digital and analog inputs.
The Onkyo LS-T10 sound stand feels well-built and sounds good with movies, but its lousy music performance makes it tough to recommend.

If you have a TV with a centrally-mounted stand and want to improve your sound quality, then a sound stand is sleek-looking option. All-in-one speakers like the Onkyo LS-T10 offer a single-cable connection from your TV and can be controlled by your...

Soundbars and pedestal speaker systems have become increasingly popular in home theater applications because of their space-saving, cost-saving, and ease of use. Convenience is king when it comes to these designs. The subject of today's review is one...
The Onkyo LS-T10 saves space by putting six speakers and a subwoofer in one cabinet that allows you to place your TV on top of it ; The system offers a variety of connection options, including Bluetooth streaming
The speaker system lacks the ability to equalize and fine-tune the settings ; Bluetooth can be a bit spotty if you get too far away from the Onkyo system
For $399, the Onkyo LS-T10 proves to be a pretty good performer that can provide a healthy step up in performance from your TV speakers. In many ways, the pedestal speaker system is even less intrusive than a traditional active soundbar system, because...
Consumer review (newegg.com)
I had done considerable research beforehand. Many reviews noted that the Onkyo had poor music reproduction. Maybe even worse than built in TV speakers. And they are right. But I wanted an external sound system to hear dialog on TV clearer. For that it...
--Voices are richer, easier to understand speech --Unlike a sound bar, the stand doesn't block access to TV by remote --Turns on when TV is turned on and shuts down when TV is off --Easy set up
--As I read in expert reviews, music is a disappointment
