The Switch Alpha 12 is Acer's attempt to create a Microsoft Surface rival. It aims to offer the same tablet-first convertible experience, but at a significantly more competitive £600 starting price. That makes it over £100 cheaper than similarly...

Most of us are now familiar with two-in-ones and convertibles, but Acer's tried to take versatility to a whole new level with the Aspire Switch 12. Marketed as a 'five-in-one', you can use it as a laptop and a tablet, though its detachable keyboard and...
Large, sharp display ; Versatile design ; Reliable performance
Uncomfortable trackpoint ; Poor selection of ports ; Cheaper rivals available

An incredibly budget-friendly Microsoft Surface clone
Great performance for the money ; Solid build ; Vibrant screen
Short battery life ; Keyboard feels cheap ; Tons of bloatware
The Acer Switch Alpha 12 is a Microsoft Surface clone that offers great value for those looking for a PC tablet. However, it’s short battery life and cheap feeling keyboard make it hard to recommend for people who actually want to do work.

The laptop-replacement market is going from strength to strength, with every manufacturer worth its salt looking to innovate in the 2-in-1 market and stand apart from the top-of-the-pack Microsoft Surface. With the Acer Switch Alpha 12, the Taiwanese...
Affordable, keyboard and stylus included (in the UK), ample power to rival Microsoft Surface, silent operation, decent screen, integrated and adjustable stand
Battery life limited to around 5-hours per charge, not the smallest or lightest design, trackpad has an irksome click, two-tone finish looks off, poor speakers
As a full laptop-replacement the Acer Switch Alpha 12 ticks many of the right boxes. The integrated stand is solid, the silent operation from the LiquidLoop cooling system is an obvious benefit, there's as much power on hand as a Microsoft Surface Pro...

How do you beat the Surface Pro 4? Well the Acer Switch Alpha 12 is cheaper and is fanless despite having a Core i processor thanks to liquid cooling.
It’s another Surface Pro 4 rival (or clone even) but it’s a quickly growing market where competition is a good thing. Acer has done a great job of packing in decent specs into a device with a nice design which hits a lower price point than rivals. It’s...

It used to be that the Apple iPad was the tablet everyone wanted to emulate, but we've seen a spell of manufacturers looking to create their own Microsoft Surface Pro competitors. The Acer Switch Alpha 12 - a 12-inch tablet with detachable keyboard...

A close look at one of Acer's first Intel Core M devices
The Aspire Switch 12 offers a fresh and innovative design in the Windows 8.1 laptop market and in our short experience with it, we found it fun to use with fast and responsive performance.

Acer's Switch Alpha 12 performs admirably beside more expensive Windows 10 tablets.
Expert review by : Matthew Buzzi (pcmag.com)
The Acer Switch Alpha 12 is a good value, offering top speed in its price range, a crisp display, and useful extras. There are some minor design caveats, but this Windows tablet can help you be productive without breaking the bank.

Acer's Aspire Switch Alpha 12 serves equally well as a laptop and a tablet -- at a reasonable price to boot.
For its price class, the Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12 delivers excellent performance in a well-thought-out design, and it includes a great keyboard.
While the display is good, it's not as contrasty or vivid as the OLED models on other 2-in-1s. And it's got a middling pen system.
The Acer Switch Alpha offers a surprisingly great design and feature set in a 2-in-1 for the money without sacrificing power.
