Starting at £199, it does seem a little overpriced, particularly compared with Asus's own impressive £120 Asus MemoPad 7. However, that model does lack the SIM-card slot so there's no 3G/4G connectivity or ability to make phone calls and send texts.

Asus Fonepad 7 FE171CG has a 7 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and 600 x 1024 pixels resolution. It has a Intel Atom 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs Android v4.4 (KitKat) OS. The tablet has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory...

Well designed ; Decent camera ; Zen UI works well
Performance leaves a lot to be desired ; Average battery life ; Poor display and touch screen
The Asus Fonepad 7 (FE171CG) has a decent camera, boasts of enough internal storage, and runs fairly modern software. It's also well designed for a tablet; it looks good and feels comfortable to use.

If this was being sold as a linux tablet, the intel cpu would not be such a hinderance, but for Android OS, its just pointless. save your money and get something with an ARM cpu (ASUS makes a nice one for less than this costs). ASUS makes fine...
not bad for what it is, though not as good as a ARM cortex, AMD, or Qualcomm cpu
Intel cpu, Intel integrated graphics. could do way better with a ARM cortex chip and mali400 gpu or an AMD APU (chip with graphics processor built in). Intel chips tend to run slower than ARM chips on Android OS, and produce more waste heat than either...

I love this device. It runs Dead space, NFS most wanted, shadowrun, FIFA 14 without problems. But I do experience slow downs in certains games such as Sheep happens. I think it depends on how the app was written.
I bought this in Taiwan back in July. It is the size of Nexus 7 first generation. But I always carry 7 inch tablet for media/books. This has replaced my HTC one and Galaxy tab. The huge screen makes all the difference. I just pop in my AT&T sim card...
The size of the screen if not for everyone. I have no problem using it as a phone. If you install a lot of programs which takes up a lot of ram, you may experience slow down
